Cystoscope Sheath

Prior to cystoscopy procedure

  1. 1. Remove the Scopeguard® from the outer pouch. Place the Scopeguard® onto a sterile field. Grip the Scopeguard® housing between thumb and forefingers and gently insert the Cystoscope into the Scopeguard® sheath.Remove the Scopeguard from the outer pouch
  2. 2. Ensure cystoscope locates inside the Scopeguard® sheath both at the tip and the housing.Ensure cystoscope locates inside the Scopeguard® sheath both at the tip and the housing
  3. 3. Attach the irrigation set as required to the port on the Scopeguard® housing. It is recommended for complete sterility that the scope body and associated camera light cable are also protected with a suitable camera drape / sleeve affixed to the flexible section of the Scopeguard® housing.

Post cystoscopy procedure

  1. 4. Remove irrigation tubing from the port on the Scopeguard® housing. If a camera sleeve is fitted, this should be removed with the Scopeguard® ensuring that the Cystoscope is not contaminated.
  2. 5. Grip the Scopeguard® housing firmly between thumb and forefingers and twist to loosen the Scopeguard® housing from the Cystoscope.Grip the Scopeguard® housing firmly between thumb and forefingers and twist to loosen the Scopeguard® housing from the Cystoscope
  3. 6. Grip the tip of the Scopeguard® sheath between the thumb and forefinger and carefully remove the Cystoscope from the Scopeguard®. Dispose of the Scopeguard®.Grip the tip of the Scopeguard® sheath between the thumb and forefinger and carefully reove the Cystoscope from the Scopeguard®. Dispose of the Scopeguard®.
